Last week photography legend David Bailey was in Edinburgh to launch his long awaited “Stardust” Exhibition at the Scottish National Gallery. Friend of AJC, session stylist, Gianni Scumaci was here with Bailey and we managed to spend a couple hours with him to chat about his life on the road working with the world’s most famous photographer.
The exhibition, which features images that Gianni Scumaci has collaborated with Bailey on, demonstrates the breadth of his work, encompassing iconic portraits, defining images of London’s East End, and global photography. The exhibition has been curated by Bailey and its installation in Scotland is being directed by him. It is arranged thematically and the majority of the portraits on show have been newly printed.
